FICN worth Rs 6.65 lakh seized, one held
In a joint raid, Tripura Police personnel and Assam Rifles jawans conducted a raid in Dangachhera under Kanchanpur and recovered Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) on Thursday.
Based on specific information, police led by SDPO Sourav Sen along with 29 bn Assam Rifles of Radhanagar under Kumarghat Police station raided the house of one Binay Ram Reang (40) at Dangachhera Phalgun Joy Para and recovered FICN of the face value of Rs 6,65,000 including 1,330 numbers of FICN of the face value of Rs 500 each.
Police seized the FICN and arrested Binay Ram Reang.
Resentment after School in-charge prohibits hijab
An in-charge of a school in Dhanpur under Sepahijala in Tripura reportedly asked the Muslim girl students not to wear a hijab in school.
The in-charge of Barkhala High School in Dhanpur Assembly constituency prohibited the Muslim girls from wearing hijab in the school on November 15 last, a student alleged.
In the run up to the State Assembly Polls, this sparked resentment.
4 Rohingyas arrested in Agartala Railway Station
Four Rohingyas including three women were arrested from Agartala Railway Station on Thursday.
According to an official press release, Officers and staff of Agartala GRP Police station detained four Rohingyas – Hasina Begam (48), Kusnama Begam (21), Shajida Begam (22) and Nurul Haque (32). While Nurul Haque is a Myanmar Rohingya National and three others are from Kutupalong, Rohingya refugee camp No 1 Cox’s bazaar in Bangladesh.
All of them are from Kutupalong Rohingya Refugee camp No 1 and entered Tripura through an unfenced area of the India Bangladesh Border. Rohingyas were detained while they were boarding Tripurasundari Express. During the investigation, all the detained persons were arrested.
