Under the supervision of the Tourism Department of the Tripura Government and with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Choudda Devta Mandir (fourteenth deity temple) in Agartala is set to undergo a transformation.
A meeting between the Officials and engineers from the Asian Development Bank in the presence of Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Ratan Chakraborty, the MLA of the 5-Khayerpur Assembly Constituency, was convened on Tuesday (May 16) to discuss the Detailed Project Report (DPR) pertaining to the temple’s renovation.
The engineers delivered an impressive and comprehensive presentation on various aspects of the project to the gathered audience. Attendees at today’s detailed session included Uttam Kumar Chakma, the Secretary of the Tripura Government Tourism Department, Tapan Kumar Das, the Director, Shanti Ranjan Chakma, the Jirania SDM, Biswajit Sheel, the Chairman of the Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti Amit Nandi, and representatives from the Asian Development Bank.
With the support and involvement of the Asian Development Bank, this endeavor aims to give the temple which is a meeting place of castes and peoples, a fresh and revitalized appearance. The project holds great significance for the local community and is expected to enhance the cultural and religious heritage of Agartala.
