In a world filled with tales of heartache and despair, there are harbingers of hope that work tirelessly to mend broken bonds and restore happiness.

Among such harbingers of hope, Belonia Sakhi One Stop Center stands out, etching another extraordinary chapter in its remarkable success story.

Within a remarkably short span, this exceptional institution played a pivotal role in reuniting a five-year-old child with their long-lost mother, reigniting the flame of joy in their lives.

Uma Akhtar, a resident of Amjad Nagar under Belonia police station eloped with Jasim Uddin Mia, a resident of Kalma area in Latua Tila village panchayat under the Baikhora police station in South Tripura. However, the passage of time eroded the harmony of their marriage. Amidst the turmoil, Uma Jasim became a parent of a baby boy weaving moments of joy into their tumultuous journey.

But fate had more challenges in store for Uma. After enduring six years of turbulence, it became unbearable for Uma after she was physically assaulted by her husband and her mother-in-law forced her out of the residence. Injured and disheartened, Uma returns to her parents at Amjad Nagar but her husband and mother-in-law kept custody of her son.

Uma Akhtar turned to the Sakhi One Stop Cente and In-charge advocate Mampi Som promptly documented Uma’s grievance. The center sprang into action and initiated discussions with the Pradhan of the Latua Tila Gram Panchayat, where Uma’s in-laws resided.

Through unwavering collaborative efforts, the Sakhi One Stop Center orchestrated the reunion between Uma and her five-year-old child. Tears of joy flowed freely as mother and son embraced, transcending time and circumstance.

According to legal norms, the custody of a five-year-old child typically lies with the mother, offering Uma a glimmer of hope for a brighter future. Mampi Som emphasized the significance of ongoing counseling scheduled for May 26, aiming to fix marital discord through forgiveness and understanding. Should reconciliation prove unattainable, the case is referred to the Court.

The swift resolution of this heart-wrenching ordeal within a mere twelve hours left all those affiliated with the Sakhi One Stop Center jubilant. Uma Akhtar, overwhelmed with gratitude, expressed her sincerest appreciation to the center’s staff, whose unwavering support became the cornerstone of her reunification with her son.
