The delegates of the G20 group are now departing for Delhi after concluding their eventful three-day visit to Kashmir on Thursday.
According to officials, all G20 delegates will be leaving via a chartered flight from Srinagar International Airport at approximately 10:20 a.m. The visit to Kashmir was deemed successful, and the group is now heading back to Delhi.
The visit commenced with the third tourism working group meeting held in Srinagar on Monday, which saw active participation from the delegates.
Following the meeting, the delegates enjoyed a delightful ‘Shikara’ boat joyride on the serene Dal Lake in the evening, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.
Over the next two days, the delegates explored various scenic spots in Srinagar. One of the highlights was a visit to the picturesque 18-hole Royal Spring Golf Course, where they experienced the allure of golfing amidst the stunning natural landscape.
Additionally, the delegates also had the opportunity to visit the renowned Nishat Mughal Garden, immersing themselves in its timeless charm.
The delegates’ enthusiasm was evident as they posed for pictures donned in traditional Kashmiri attire. Later, they indulged in some retail therapy at the bustling Polo View Market, which is exclusively pedestrianized.
The delegates took a keen interest in the local handicrafts, purchasing items such as papier-mache crafts, Pashmina shawls, and intricately carved walnut wood products. These souvenirs served as lasting mementos of their eventful visit to the picturesque Valley.
Considering the high-profile nature of the visit, the authorities had meticulously planned and implemented foolproof security arrangements. This visit marked the first of its kind since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, further highlighting its significance.
Throughout their stay, the delegates enjoyed the luxurious hospitality of the esteemed Lalit Grand Palace Hotel and Taj Vivanta Resort. Both five-star hotels provided a breathtaking view of the Dal Lake, adding to the overall experience of the visit.
As the G20 delegates bid farewell to Kashmir, their visit undoubtedly left a positive impression, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the warmth of its people.
