Tripura Pradesh Congress held a rally on Tuesday relating to alleged deprivation of job aspirants on the State in recruitment for Government jobs and the issue of fake PRTCs.
Activists, representing various wings of Tripura Pradesh Congress, took to the streets and alleged that the government is perpetrating injustice towards the state’s youths.
The rally commenced in front of the Pradesh Congress headquarters at Post Office Chowmuhani in Agartala and supporters and activists from Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress, NSUI, and Mahila Congress took part in rally.
Following the rally, a delegation submitted a memorandum to the Director of the state Directorate of Employment Services and Manpower Planning, outlining their concerns.
Addressing reporters during the demonstration, Youth Congress leaders said, “The state government is deceiving the youths of Tripura under the guise of the PRTC (Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate). Despite the Chief Minister’s announcement that PRTC is mandatory for recruitment into various government positions, subsequent job notifications have not adhered to this protocol.”
The leader pointed out that job notifications for positions such as dental officers, agriculture, and PWD jobs miss any mention of the PRTC requirement.
Adding to their concerns, the activists raised the issue of rampant corruption, alleging that outsiders were entering the state and obtaining fake PRTC certificates and other necessary documents with the help of unscrupulous individuals within crucial government departments. These individuals are reportedly taking hefty sums of money in exchange for their services.
The youth Congress leader further accused a faction of top-level bureaucrats within the Tripura government of colluding in the creation of fraudulent documents to secure jobs reserved for the state’s youths.
The activists demanded immediate action from the Chief Minister and concerned authorities to investigate and dismantle the network of government officials involved in such criminal activities. They emphasized that this action is crucial to safeguard the future of the state’s young population.
