- Kannada Actor Vijay Raghavendra’s Wife, Spandana, Dies of Cardiac Arrest While Holidaying in Bangkok
Spandana Raghavendra, the spouse of renowned Kannada actor-singer Vijay Raghavendra passed away in Bangkok on Monday following a sudden cardiac arrest. She was in the city for a vacation.
Vijay, an esteemed figure in the Kannada film industry and a member of a cinematic lineage, mourns the loss of his cousin, the late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, who succumbed to cardiac arrest in October 2021.
Hailing from Bangalore, Spandana was the daughter of the esteemed police officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police B.K. Shivaram. Her union with Vijay Raghavendra took place in 2007.
It has been reported that Spandana experienced chest discomfort, prompting an urgent hospitalization.
She passed away on Monday due to cardiac arrest exacerbated by low blood pressure, as revealed by family sources.
Preparations are being made by Vijay Raghavendra’s family to repatriate Spandana’s remains to Bangalore. Subsequent to her return, her final rites will be observed.
Spandana is survived by her husband Vijay and their son, Shourya.
Vijay, who embarked on his career as a young artist in ‘Chalisuva Modagalu,’ earned acclaim with the 2016 Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in ‘Shivayogi Sri Puttayyajja’.
Notably, he clinched victory in the inaugural season of ‘Bigg Boss Kannada’ and also lent his expertise as a judge on the reality show ‘Dance Karnataka Dance’. (Edited)
