Tripura will host the 87th Convention of the Forum Of Regulators (FOR). The FOR holds such meetings across the country periodically. This time, the four-day-long convention will be held in Agartala. The convention will be held from August 24-27 next.

The Chairmen and members of regulatory authorities from across the country will convene to discuss multiple issues aimed at advancing excellence in the power sector, said Deshraju Radhakrishna, the Chairman of the Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (TERC) in Agartala on Monday.

“A total of 60 persons and 30 Chairmen of Regulatory Commissions spreading over 32 States and UTs will attend the Convention in Agartala”, D Radhakrishna said.

The Electricity Forum of Regulators is a platform for collaboration and ensuring harmonious action between the regulatory bodies in the power sector. The forum aims to shape the future of energy regulation and contribute to sustainable growth through engaging discussions, innovative ideas, and knowledge exchange.

Talking about the objectives of the 87th convention of FOR, the TERC chairman said it will serve as an inclusive platform for thorough deliberations, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative exploration of the pressing issues and opportunities within the power sector.

“The issues, challenges and opportunities of the power sector in Tripura will also be raised. As the G20 meeting in Agartala highlighted the usage of bamboo for Hydrogen based fuel sans carbon footprint may also be discussed”, he said and exuded his confidence that the convention will serve as a catalyst to State’s overall growth prospect”, D Radhakrishna said.

The visiting Chairmen will have a ground-level experience about State’s power sector and they will visit OTPC Palatana after offering puja at the Tripureswari Temple in Udaipur on August 25 next.

He also said the event of the convention will be held on August 25 evening in a private hotel in Agartala where Chairmen of the regulatory authorities will be engaged in deliberations on the issues and challenges of the power sector.
