Agartala, April 20 : In a dazzling display of youthful talent, Shresthanshu Dey smashed an unbeaten century to power Tripura to a commanding 207-run victory over Sikkim in the opening match of the 1st Little Master Under-14 Cricket Tournament.
The one-sided triumph, played on Sunday at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in Assam, has positioned Tripura just one win away from securing a semifinal spot. Tripura team will face Manipur in the next group-stage clash on April 23.

The spotlight belonged to 14-year-old Shresthanshu Dey, whose unbeaten 137 off 122 balls was a spectacle of skill and composure. Chasing a daunting 295, Sikkim crumbled under pressure, folding for a mere 87 in a batting collapse that underscored Tripura’s supremacy. Ashish Gautam’s 31 off 56 balls (4 fours) and Vikas Prasad’s 11 off 35 balls (1 four) were the only notable contributions, with extras adding 24 runs.
Tripura’s bowlers were relentless, with Rihan Akhtar and Sriman Debnath claiming two wickets apiece, conceding just 12 and 4 runs respectively, to seal the rout.

Shresthanshu, the son of Suman and Tumpa Dey, has honed his craft over seven years at the Pragati Play Centre under the mentorship of coach Nayan Mani Debbarma.
