Feb 21, 2017: State level Digi-DhanMela will be held today from 10.30 am at Khudiram English Medium School Ground in Agartala, Tripura. In the function, all the banks, PSUs like IOC, ONGC, BSNL and other telecom companies are participating. Also, many government departments of Tripura will take part in the programme.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Minister of State, Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo, will be present in the program later in the afternoon.
Two central schemes namely Lucky Grahak Yojana for Consumers and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana for Merchants, seek to nudge people towards significantly higher usage of digital transactions through the offer of incentives will also be launched in the program. Under these schemes, awards will be given out on a daily and weekly basis.
The objective of Digi-Dhan Mela is to encourage, guide and engage the citizens, customers and merchants to increasingly shift towards cashless payment mode across the state. The event will be organised by the State IT department in coordination with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
