Mar 03, 2017: All India Radio Kohima yesterday organized a programme to felicitate the winners of NE Body Can Sing 2016 that was held at Shillong last January. NE Body Can Sing 2016 initiated by All India Radio Shillong, is a yearly event in which talents from all the Seven Northeastern States participate in the competition.
Seyievino and Manjai represented Nagaland, where Seyievino was adjudged the winner in the category of Western Music and Manjai was adjudged the runner up in the Tribal Modern Songs category. Deputy Director General Engineering and Head of Office, K V Ramachandran, while congratulating the winners said that the state has made a mark through them and hoped that the trend should continue.
He also congratulated the office staff for the achievement stating that it is through team work that success was made possible. Head of Programme, Kaimang Chang also congratulated the winners for bringing laurels to the state and also congratulated the judges of Kohima edition for selecting the best competitors to represent the state. Seyievino received a cash prize of rupees one lakh along with citation and Manjai earned fifty thousand prize money and citation. (AIR News)
