Mar 3, 2017: Without missing an opportunity to enhance Ayush Health care facilities in Tripura, the State Government submitted proposals to visiting Union Ayush Minister. State Health Minister Badal Choudhury, during the visit of Union Minister for Ayush Shripad Yesso Naik, handed over a proposal to Naik on Mar 2, 2017 for setting up of an All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in the State and as the State is enriched with diversified medicinal plants, Choudhury also proposed to Naik for setting up of a Research Institute in Ayurveda.
In compliance of Central Government’s current policy towards boosting Ayush treatment facilities in the North Eastern Region, the Central Government has already set up a North Eastern Institutes of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy at Shillong in Meghalaya. In his proposals, Badal Choudhury mentioned, Ayurveda services is popular Tripura which also offers Panchakarma treatment facilities. Tripura is also the second largest Ayush-resource state next to Assam.
Speaking to the media persons, Badal Choudhury said, in order to strengthen the present facilities proposals have been submitted to the Centre for setting up of three more integrated Ayush hospitals in West, North and South Tripura districts and strengthening of Ayush Center to 100-bedded hospital in Gomati district. The State has also proposed for 10-bedded Panchakarma treatment centers attached with three districts and five sub-divisions.
