Mar 10,2017: Counting in Manipur, all arrangements have been made for tomorrow’s counting of votes for the two-phased elections to the 60-member state Assembly. Counting of votes will start from eight in the morning in eleven counting centres across the state. Prohibitory Orders under Section 144 of CrPC have been promulgated in and around all the counting centres by the concerned District Magistrates. Adequate security coverage has also been put in place to ensure smooth and peaceful counting of votes. The result of this counting will decide the electoral fortune of 266 candidates including 11 women candidates. Re-poll was conducted yesterday at 34 polling stations where election was held in the first phase on the 4th of this month. Meanwhile another re-poll at 28 polling stations in eight Assembly constituencies began from seven this morning. (AIR News)
