Massive IPS and TPS reshuffle in Tripura sees over 100 officers transferred across districts and battalions to enhance law enforcement efficiency. Key roles reassigned in TSR, PHQ, and SP offices statewide. Find the complete list below.
Agartala (Tripura), June 7: In a sweeping administrative move, the Government of Tripura has ordered the transfer and posting of 108 IPS and TPS officers with immediate effect. This large-scale reshuffle aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve law and order, and strengthen security mechanisms across the state.
According to the official notification issued with the approval of the Governor, senior officer Rati Ranjan Debnath, IPS, has been given additional responsibility. He will now serve as DIGP (Northern Range) with the added charge of DIGP, AP (OPS-II) to supervise the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th, 13th, and 15th battalions of TSR.
Desai Rushikesh Jaysing, IPS, who was posted as Assistant SP of North District, has been transferred as Additional SP, Gomati District.
Dilip Debbarma (TPS Gr. 1) has been appointed Commanding Officer (CO) at the A.C.H.R.R. Training Centre, while H.S. Darlong (TPS Gr. 1) takes over as CO of BWHGBN.
Sudip Kumar Pal (TPS Gr. 1) and Prasenjit Ghosh (TPS Gr. 1) have been moved from AIGP (Welfare) and the A.C.H.R.R. Training Centre respectively to CO, 13th Bn TSR and AIGP (Welfare), PHQ respectively.
SP-level officers also saw major changes. Timir Das (IPS), who served as SP (SCRB), is now posted as SP, MTF. Similarly, Kishan Kumar (TPS Gr. 1) has been transferred from SP, MTF to SP, SCRB.
A number of Dy. SP/ Addl SPs have also been promoted or reassigned. For instance, Himadri Prasad Das (TPS Gr. 1) has been made Additional SP (Rural) West, while Dhruba Nath (TPS Gr. 1) has moved to Additional SP (Urban) West.
Besides, Jeremia Darlong, Vanneiliana Darlong, Chiranjib Chakraborty, Prabir Paul – all are in TPS Gr. 1 category – have been reshuffled.
Shifts also affected SDPOs and Assistant Commandants of TSR. Officers such as David Choudhury, Arindam Reang, and Rajesh Bardhan (all are TPS Gr. 1) have been given command responsibilities in TSR and DAR units across Sepahijala and other battalions.
Among the other notable changes:
- Tapas Kanti Pal (TPS Gr. 1) becomes PPSO to the Governor of Tripura with the designation of Additional SP from PPSO to the Governor as Dy. SP.
- Chandrasekhar Datta (TPS Gr. 1) and Janardhan Sarkar (TPS Gr. 1) are reassigned to Addl. SP PHQ from Dy. SP PHQ, and Dy. CO ACHRR Trg centre from Assist Comdt TSR 12th bn respectively.
- Utpalendu Debnath (TPS Gr. ll), earlier a Dy SP probationer in Unakoti, is now posted as SDPO, Kumarghat.
The reshuffle also brings administrative changes at the assistant commandant level. Officers like Amal Mog, Binode Debbarma, Gopal Debbarma, – all are TCS Gr. II category – and several others are now posted to different battalions of TSR.
Women officers have also been repositioned in key roles. Parmita Pandey (TPS Gr. II) takes over as SDPO, Amtali. She was moved from Dy SP, SB.
Dipa Debbarma (TPS Gr. II) is appointed as Dy. SP, West. Several young probationers have been assigned important responsibilities in field units, reflecting a push to empower and groom new talent.
The notification includes new responsibilities for officers in procurement, security, intelligence, traffic, and various district police headquarters.

The large-scale reshuffling is viewed as part of the state’s strategy to reinvigorate its administrative and policing apparatus ahead of the monsoon season and upcoming festivals.
A senior official in the Home Department, on condition of anonymity, noted that these postings are expected to bring fresh energy and effectiveness to law enforcement across Tripura.
