Apr 23, 2017: Digital waves have reached Arunachal Pradesh as Nirjuli village-1 in Papum Pare district emerged as the first digital village of Arunachal Pradesh. After announcing it on April 23, Northeast Circle Chief General Manager of SBI PVSLM Murty said, that the SBI had urged the state Government to improve connectivity in the state to speed up socio-economic development of the people.
Explaining the digitization, Murthy said Digital village aims at cashless transactions even in ‘sabji mandis’ to make payment through mobile. He further stated, advocated awareness through schools for which the SBI could provide computers to promote digitalisation, micro ATM, Content Security Policy besides other financial support to the villagers to improve their income level.
