May 05, 2017: All India BJP president Amit Shah along with a galaxy of top rung leaders will arrive Agartala tomorrow in a two day visit. During his two-day meeting, Shah will hold discussion with office bearers of BJP and State and block level local leaders. On May 7, he will address a public meeting at Kumarghat in North District.
Addressing a press meet today at Agartala, BJP State president Biplab Deb said, MoS for Health and Family Welfare Minister Sajjan Singh Kulestey, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, All India secretaries Rahul Sinha and Arvind Menon and Assam Finance Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma will also arrive in the State and attend the rally. All India general secretary Bhupendra Yadav has already reached Agartala to oversee the preparation for Amit Shah’s visit.
Known as a master strategist who scripted victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand recently, Amit Shah’s visit is expected to fine tune and draw a blueprint for forthcoming Assembly Polls in Tripura. After collecting information from the local leaders in series of meetings, Shah is expected to chalk out minute details for strengthening organization as well as launching campaign to woo the voters in favour of BJP. For this first time in the history of Tripura, BJP has emerged as a major political force challenging ‘mighty’ CPIM. Shah’s visit is expected to give fillip to resurgent BJP in the State.
Will his master’s touch see the light of success for BJP in Tripura – is a million dollar question at this moment. Ruling Left Front, known for its typical base level organization, is the toughest opponent that BJP will face after Bihar Assembly polls.
So far BJP is banking on mainly three issues – central pay scale for State Government employees, financial package for the State and generating employment opportunities for unemployed youth. It remains to be seen whether Shah’s visit add some more punches in BJP’s Poll campaign.
“As the Central Government has recently awarded the Tripura Government three prizes, it is obvious that the State has made some, if not at satisfactory rate, progress in implementing welfare schemes. However, anti-incumbency factor cannot be ignored and recent termination 10323 teachers after a Supreme Court verdict added woes for ruling party. Considering strength and weakness of ruling party, it is obvious that electoral battle for 2018 Assembly will be an interesting fight to observe”, opined a veteran political analyst of Agartala.
