May 28, 2017: Although there is an understanding on common issues between Congress and CPIM at national level, Tripura Pradesh Congress will fight against ruling CPIM with all its might in the State, said Tripura PCC president Birajit Sinha today in Agartala.
“Congress will revitalize its organization and will fight to oust CPIM from power in ensuing Assembly Polls notwithstanding the fact that Congress and CPM have understanding on common issue at national level to fight against BJP”, Sinha stated.
Addressing a press conference today, Sinha said, an extended meeting of TPCC was held in presence of two AICC members – former MP IJ Sahanaadi and Congress leader of Assam Akshay Rajkhoa- to discuss about holding organizational polls.
Detailing about organizational poll schedules, Sahanaadi stated, booth level polls will be conducted between August 7 and August 20. In the second phase, block level polls will start from August 21 and continue till September 4. He did not mention when PCC polls will be held.
Sahanaadi said, in view of forthcoming Assembly polls in the State, TPCC will conduct organizational poll to strengthen grass root level organization. To mobilize party workers and infuse confidence among the supporters, TPCC will launch special membership drive from May 30.
Organizational Poll process of Congress Party is undergoing across the country, he said and added election for Congress Working Committee will be conducted after all the poll processes ended. “In the polls for CWC, 30 per cent reservation for women along with 20 per cent reservation for SC/ST and other reservation policies would be followed.
