June 27, 2017: Tripura Government is trying to reduce gap between rural and urban areas which could not be done during period of insurgency. Now as peaceful situation is prevailing in the State, several developmental initiatives were launched by the State Government. The Chief Minister Manik Sarkar stated this after inaugurating a two storied shopping complex – Shishu Uddyan Bipani Bitan – in Agartala today. He also outlined about State Government’s plan pertaining to the iconic Ujjanta Palace.
The shopping complex was built in almost 1358 square meter area and total 139 rooms were constructed at an estimated expenditure of Rs 10.97 crore. The State PWD implemented the project.
Inaugurating the shopping complex, Manik Sarkar said, peace is prerequisite for development. Mentioning about attempts to disturb peace and harmony, Sarkar said, people might have some demands but a section is trying to create chaos in name of public demand. Appealing people to stand guard against any attempt to destabilize peaceful condition, he batted for agitation in a democratic manner.
Without mentioning prevailing political tensions in various parts of the State, Chief Minister said, a section of people is even preventing in implementation of REGA, distribution of fingerlings to beneficiaries and impeding welfare activities. He urged to all to maintain peace and tranquility.
