June 29, 2017: CBI today questioned State Social Welfare Minister Bijita Nath today at her office chamber in State Secretariat on Rose Valley Chit fund scam. The questioning process continued for almost an hour.
Even though rumour mills are running in full scale, the truth is that CBI officers remained tight lipped about the questioning and Minister Bijita Nath stated, CBI sought some information and told them whatever she knew. “I have fully cooperated with CBI Officials and replied all the queries”, she said in a confident tone.
Minister also did not disclose anything about information sought and her reply.
The Investigating Officer, CBI inspector Bratin Ghosal and supervising officer and additional SP Saibal Kumar Tripathi questioned the Minister and there were two witnesses – Mukta Ghosh, an Officer of Tripura Police and Manager of SBI, Kunjaban Branch.
CBI officials were tight lipped about nature of grilling. They remained mum over whether Bijita Nath will be questioned further.
Informed sources said, apart from Bijitha Nath, a number of political leaders belonging to opposition camps are reportedly under the CBI scanner.
