Tripura: Train accident averted

September 04, 2017: A major train accident was averted along Agartala-Udaipur rail route. Sources said, alertness of railway employees helped to avert the accident.

Station master of Agartala Station stated, faults in track fittings and fastening system were observed near Bishalgarh rail station. “A stretch with loose fitting systems was found during inspection near Bishalgarh and the faults were repaired at the earliest”, Agartala Station master stated.

Due to the faults, departure of train for Udaipur was deferred and ultimately, the train left for Udaipur 20 minutes after the scheduled time.

Sources said, considering the nature of the faults, there is possibility of sabotage. Railway Police have started investigation, sources said.
