As the day count of Covid19 positive cases cross 200 mark for second successive day and number of deaths is increasing there is speculation as to whether State is heading for another round of lockdown.
The speculations among the people gained momentum on Monday after Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb chaired an important meeting to review the latest COVID19 situation in the state and effective ways to tackle the pandemic.
A section of public is strongly raising demand for a lockdown to prevent spread of novel coronavirus.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister took a thorough review of the emerging situation. The cabinet ministers and the senior administrative officers including Chief Secretary were present in the meeting.
On Monday, two more deaths have been recorded and 202 persons including 19 BSF personnel have been detected positive, the Chief Minister has confirmed this on his social media handle.
Total 4747 samples have been tested on Monday. Among them, 202 fresh positive cases have been found – 161 persons detected positive in antigen tests. Besides, 86 patients have been discharged from various district Covid Care Centres after their test results came negative.
Meanwhile, with the new cases, the tally of positive cases has crossed 3000 mark while the number of deaths has increased to 7. Besides, as many as 1,14,037 samples have been tested in the state so far-the state is holding good position in terms of testing in the country.
The surge in positive cases is attributed to increased number of tests that of the rapid antigen test at PHC level. “Since more testes are being done everyday, the figure of positive cases is also showing an upward trend,” said one doctor.
Among other places, transmission of Covid19 is unabated at Ampi Nagar in Gomati district. Antigen test programme was conducted at Ampi Nagar CHC among the jawans of 6th-Bn TSR today.
As per the latest report from the local medical authority, total 8 TSR jawans and two civilians have been detected corona positive today. Within few days total 28 corona positive cases have been found at Ampi Nagar.
