Agartala May 16, 2025: Tripura is steadily positioning itself as a frontrunner in digital innovation, laying the groundwork for the integration of cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI).
At a recent high-level AI workshop held at Pragya Bhavan, key developments in the state’s digital infrastructure were spotlighted.
These advancements showcase how ongoing initiatives are creating a robust ecosystem to support future AI-driven governance and public services.

During the high-level artificial intelligence workshop held at Pragya Bhavan, Jeya Ragul Geshan B, Director of Tripura’s Information Technology Department, emphasized the state’s progress in digital transformation.

He noted that Tripura has made significant strides in enhancing digital infrastructure, which is crucial for implementing advanced technologies like AI.
Among the key initiatives mentioned were the successful deployment of e-office systems, the establishment of reliable connectivity through State Wide Area Network (SWAN) projects, and the development of other digital public platforms.

According to Geshan, these advancements form the foundational framework required to support and scale future artificial intelligence projects across the state.
Speaking to the media, Secretary of the State IT department, Kiran Gitte said the Government of Tripura has built a strong reputation for its transparent administration and commitment to digital governance.

He said paperless operations are being implemented across all levels at present — from the state cabinet down to the gram panchayats.
The state has successfully achieved significant milestones in digitisation and has also undertaken the development of its own software solutions, Gitte said.
