A recent pan-India survey conducted by CVoter has unveiled that a significant 60% of Indians believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been successful in projecting India as a global power over the course of his nine-year tenure.

The exclusive survey was conducted to mark the nine-year anniversary of the NDA regime led by Prime Minister Modi. Taking office on May 26, 2014, after leading the Bharatiya Janata Party to a historic majority in the Lok Sabha elections, Modi has consistently emphasized India’s interests in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings with world leaders.

CVoter-Survey-reveals The impact of Modi’s diplomatic outreach has been substantial, with even 50% of opposition voters agreeing that he has effectively enhanced India’s global stature. This is a noteworthy finding, as previous CVoter surveys have often shown opposition supporters expressing discontent towards the Modi government on various issues.

Interestingly, the only demographic group where a majority (56%) believes that Modi has failed to project India as a global power in the past year is the Muslim community. However, among the broader population, a significant majority of Indians, regardless of demographics or ethnic identities, hold the opinion that Modi has succeeded in positioning India as a global power.

Delving further into the survey results, it is notable that a higher percentage of rural Indians (61.4%) agree with the assertion compared to their urban counterparts (58.3%). This indicates that Modi’s efforts to improve India’s global image have resonated with individuals residing in rural areas as well.

Since assuming office, Modi has maintained an exceptionally busy schedule of diplomatic engagements, further reinforcing his commitment to elevating India’s global standing. Starting with his inaugural visit to the United States in August 2014, the Prime Minister has consistently prioritized international engagements and diplomatic interactions.

The CVoter survey provides valuable insights into public perception regarding Modi’s efforts in projecting India as a global power, revealing a predominantly positive sentiment among the majority of respondents to this end. It reflects the acknowledgement of Modi’s tireless efforts and strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering India’s position on the world stage.

As India continues to navigate its role as a global player, Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and commitment to advancing the nation’s interests remain key factors in shaping its international standing. (Edited)
