All views on Bru pact will be considered, Don't fall to propaganda, says Tripura CM

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday broke his silence on the ongoing protests in Kanchanpur and appealed people to reject the propaganda being intentionally spread to divide people in the communal lines. 

 

The Chief Minister addressing the media persons in the sidelines of his visit to fire ravaged Math Chowmuhani market said, "this auspicious land Mata Tripuraaundari is known for its culture of cohesion and tranquility between bengali and indigenous communities. This tradition should be protected at every front and we know as to what consequences it may bring with it if this camaraderie gets hampered. Some people for their personal, political gain fuel negative sentiments but such practices should be foiled by the people of Tripura". 

 

Clarifying government's stand, he said, all views will be given due respect. While executing the Bru pact, both the parties the Brus, the Nagarik Surakhsa Mancha will be surely asked to join for a dialogue. Nothing will be done arbitrarily. He also referred to the recent clarification issued by the revenue department and maintained that Kanchanpur was not the only place where the Brus would be settled. They would be settled a across the six districts. 


On the fire issue, he said, primarily Rs 5,000 have been given to the affected traders and after final assessment they would be supported by the government financially
