Amit Shah announces 33pc reservation for women in Tripura govt jobs

On the occasion of International Women’s day on Tuesday, the Union Minister made the announcement while addressing a public rally in Agartala today. The rally was organized to mark the completion of four years of BJP-IPFT government in Tripura.

 

He said that 33 percent of government jobs in Tripura would be reserved for women.

 

Besides, Shah also said today – March 8 – is being observed as the International Women’s Day and several initiatives to empower women will be taken. To this end, I will inaugurate Mukhymantri Mahila Swashaktikaran Abhiyan in another programme at Anandanagar today, the Union Minister said.  

 

Amit Shah greeted all the supporters who assembled in numbers at Vivekananda Maidan braving scorching sun.

 

In his speech, Shah slammed the CPM era in Tripura. He said, during the CPM rule there was no sign of development, politics was riddled with violence and administration was controlled by the party cadres.  

 

“They ruled the State for 25 years in the name of poor people of the State, however, they did nothing for the poor citizens of the State”, he said.

 

Shah also hailed the people for electing BJP-led government in Tripura with absolute majority.

 

He also said, four years after the BJP-led government assumed power, Tripura is marching towards attaining self-sufficiency freeing itself from the clutches of addiction and other evils.

 

Modi ji has made the entire NE a big hub for development, connectivity, infrastructure, sports, investment & organic farming by giving it the designation of Ashtalakshmi. Earlier there used to be discussion of extremism, infiltration, bandh, tension and corruption in Tripura, Shah said.

 

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government, Shah mentioned several schemes for the holistic development and welfare of the State. He said, in the ‘double engine’ government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made plans and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb implemented the schemes benefitting the people of the State. Shah also mentioned about increase in farmers’ earning as well as growth in per capita income.

 

Besides, the incumbent Deb’s government ended the political violence and heinous crimes in the State reduced by 30 percent. Moreover, conviction rate increased from 5 percent to 53 percent in the last four years of the BJP-led government.
