Covid 19 affected 364 health workers in Tripura, Floor managers to look after Covid wards

In the wake Covid19 surge and alleged lapses in treatment, BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik is constantly monitoring the health care delivery system at GBP Hospital in Agartala. As part of her efforts, she is visiting the Hospital regularly. On Friday also she went to the hospital and later held a press conference focusing on present Covid19 situation. She revealed that altogether 364 health workers - including two renowned doctors of our state, Dr Pradip Bhowmik and Dr Shyamal Roy - across the state had been infected by the Covid 19 while discharging Covid duty at several hospitals across the state. Bhowmik, while briefing the media persons regarding the recent face shift of the GBP hospital, also said the entire administration is working wholeheartedly to resolve the lapses being reported regarding Covid wards in the hospital. 


As of now, 364 covid warriors have been infected by the disease that include two renowned doctors of our state--Dr Pradip Bhowmik and Dr Shyamal Roy. The number of active cases now stands at 139 whereas 225 of them are cured”, the MP said explaining as to how the health workers were trying hard to keep the system rolling. 


She said, both the positivity and mortality rates are less if compared to other states. The steps prescribed by the Chief Minister are being taken care of. State of art technologies are being installed such PBX, engagement of trained floor managers in Covid wards and all have been already implemented, she added.


She also informed that the ILS hospital had been also asked to extend support with ventilation units, the state government as per the suggestions of the experts team was likely to import re-breathing oxygen masks and all very shortly. Replying to a specific question regarding the plasma therapy, the MP said, “Once the state gets a positive nod from the ICMR it will also begin here in the state”.
