DoNER approves Rs 717 cr for five projects in Tripura; CM hails PM, DoNER

The Ministry of DoNER has approved Rs 717 crore for the implementation of five community welfare projects in Tripura. 

Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and DoNER. In a social media post, Dr Saha said, "I express my sincere gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister Ji and the concerned department on behalf of the people of Tripura for the approval of Rs 717 crore by the Department of Donors for 5 projects."

He also wrote, "Under the guidance of the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the double engine government is constantly working to improve the living standards of the people of Tripura".
 
Among the projects sanctioned by the DoNER Ministry are Rs 202 crores for the establishment of a Dental College in Agartala, Rs 192 crores for the establishment of a 200-bedded Mother and Child Health Wing in Agartala Government Medical College & GB Pant Hospital, Rs 121 crores for a Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Bishramganj under Sepahijala district, Rs 80 Crores for a Solar Micro Grid in remote tribal areas, and Rs 122 crores for 3 Rural roads of 30 KMs length.

This allocation by the central government will play a very helpful role for the people of the state to advance the development works. 

The construction of the Dental College and new beds in Agartala Government Medical College and GB Hospital will help the government in providing better healthcare to people, sources in the State Health Department opined.
 
Approval of Rs 121 crore for drug addicts' rehabilitation will bolster the government's efforts in curbing the drug menace in Tripura. 

The fund approval will also help in developing rural areas and promote clean energy, informed sources commented.
