Dr Manik Saha to take oath as Chief Minister of Tripura on May 15

Dr Manik Saha, the incumbent president of Tripura State BJP and a Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura has been appointed as the new Chief Minister after a meeting of the party.

 

Dr-Manik-Saha-Tripura-New-CM-oath-taking“Being elected as Legislative Party Leader met the Hon'ble Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted the claim to form the government with the letter of support from my party legislatures”, Dr Saha wrote in a social media post.

 

The swearing-in ceremony of Dr Saha as the new Chief Minister of Tripura will be held at 11.30 am on Sunday.

 

In a surprise move, Biplab Kumar Deb stepped down as the State’s Chief Minister on Saturday evening and later, a meeting of the legislature party began at the residence of the Biplab Kumar Deb and senior BJP leaders like Bhupender Yadav and Vinod Tawde, who are the General Secretaries of the party, who were appointed as observers for electing the new leader. In the meeting Party’s State Observer Vinod Sonkar was also present.

 

Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated Dr Manik Saha and said, Congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Manik Saha ji on being elected as the legislature party leader. I believe under PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's vision and leadership Tripura will prosper”.

 

Deb also exuded confidence that under the leadership of Dr Saha, the former’s unfinished activities would be completed at a faster pace and Tripura would emerge developed as Deb envisioned.  

 

In his reaction, after becoming the leader of the legislative party, Dr Saha said, “I was given the responsibility of the state president and I worked. Now, I’ve been named the leader of the legislative party. The CM proposed my name, and everyone supported it.”
