Eyeing to score big in Sports: Min inspects Khowai synthetic ground

In consonance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi  ‘Khelo India’ scheme, Tripura Government is working to improve the sports ecosystem in the State and accordingly, construction works of modern playing grounds in Udaipur, Agartala and Khowai are going on. Sports Minister Sushanta Choudhury said after inspecting the works of synthetic ground in Khowai on Thursday.

 

Choudhury along with officials inspected the works of setting up synthetic play field at Khowai Government HS+2 School ground. He directed the concerned officials to complete the works maintaining quality.

 

“We are committed to improved sports facilities in every district in the State. Works for synthetic ground in Udaipur has already been completed while works for such fields at Agartala and Khowai are undergoing. The athletics field at Dasarah ground in Agartala will soon be ready. Works for synthetic ground in Khowai is also going on in full swing”, the Minister said.

 

During his Khowai visit, Sushanta Choudhury held meetings concerned officials and stakeholders to explore further possibilities of improvement of sports activities. He said steps have been taken to construct a swimming pool at the lake of the Khowai Government HS+2 School. Besides, Choudhury also held discussions with officials and contractors for renovating the basket ball ground.

 

Speaking to the media, the Minister said sports activities strengthen the bond of friendship and brotherhood. Young people always find energy in doing positive things like sports. Keeping this in mind, the State Government is working to improve the sports infrastructure in the State.
