The sensational Indian long-distance runner, Parul Chaudhary, continues to showcase her exceptional prowess as she clinched the gold medal in the highly anticipated 3000m steeplechase event at the Track Night meet in New York.

In a dazzling display of skill and determination, Parul crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 9 minutes and 41.88 seconds on Friday night at the illustrious Icahn Stadium. The venue, hosting the Bronze-Level event, is part of the esteemed World Athletics Continental Tour.

Facing tough competition from the American athletes, Parul emerged triumphant, leaving her rivals in awe. Madeline Strandemo of the United States secured the second spot with a time of 10:02.48, closely followed by her compatriot Meredith Rizzo, who finished third in 10:08.52. The six-runner field witnessed an intense battle, but Parul's exceptional performance solidified her place at the top.

The Athletics Federation of India proudly shared the news on Saturday, tweeting, "Parul Chaudhary claims a resounding victory in the women's 3000m steeplechase (9:41.88) at the esteemed World Athletics Bronze Track Night held in New York on May 19. Lili Das secures the third position in the women's 1500m (4:15.23)."

This extraordinary feat follows Parul Chaudhary's recent record-breaking performance in the women's 5000m event at a meet in Los Angeles earlier this month. With her remarkable timing in New York, the 28-year-old athlete has successfully secured a spot in the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place later this year.

Adding to India's achievements, Lili Das participated in the highly competitive women's 1500m race, delivering an outstanding performance with a season's best timing of 4:15.23, securing a commendable third position. The United States' Alexina Teubel emerged as the champion, clocking an impressive time of 4:07.68.

In the men's 1500m race, Ajay Kumar Saroj showcased his remarkable skills, completing the challenging course in a noteworthy time of 3:41.28, securing the eighth position. However, Shankar Lal Swami faced unexpected hurdles and unfortunately did not finish the men's 3000m steeplechase event.
