Maitree Cycle rally gets rousing welcome in Agartala

Maitree Cycle rally comprising of BSF cyclists reached Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Agartala on Thursday. The rally entered Tripura on February 16 last and will cover 817 km road along the Indo-Bangla border in the State. After the BSF cyclists reached Agartala, they were given a rousing welcome.  

 

During the program, Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier along with Col Abul Hasnat Md Shahriar Iqbal, EB, Dy Director General, Sector Comdr BGB Cumilla, other Senior Officials from BSF, BGB and State Govt, Dipa Karmakar, distinguished Sportsperson and Olympian and Civil dignitaries applauded the Cyclists.

 

Maitree-cycle-rally-BSFNotably, the Maitree Cycle Rally comprising of 13 BSF jawan was flagged off from Zero Point Panitar in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal on January 10 last. The rally was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman and harness Indo-Bangla relations.

 

The rally is going all along the Indo-Bangladesh border passing through BSF Frontier South Bengal, Frontier North Bengal, Frontier Guwahati, Frontier Meghalaya, Frontier Mizoram & Cachar, Frontier Tripura and will be terminating at BSF Border OutPost Silkore in Mizoram after 66 days  - on March 17, 2021 which coincides with the birth date of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman.

 

Border Security Force, besides performing the primary task of safeguarding and defending the Frontiers of the Country round the clock is also profoundly involved in conducting activities which encourages comradeship & sportsmanship.
