Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha attended his public outreach programme Mukhyamantri Samipeshu in Agartala on Wednesday.
During the programme, Dr. Saha attentively listened to the various problems, shortages, and grievances of people from different parts of the state.
A significant number of them brought forth medical applications, and the Chief Minister displayed a sincere commitment to resolving the issues faced by those seeking assistance at this program, organized at the Chief Minister’s official residence.
Among the attendees was Maitreyi Pal from Badharghat Sripalli, who approached the Chief Minister regarding her father’s medical plea.
Her father has been battling kidney disease for the past three years, requiring dialysis twice a week. As the sole breadwinner of the family, Maitreyi’s father is currently unable to work due to his illness, placing a heavy financial burden on the family. In response to their predicament, 24-year-old Maitreyi Pal has taken up a low-paid job in a private organization to support the family.
However, with her current salary, she is struggling to cover her father’s medical expenses and manage the family’s finances. In light of these challenges, she met with the Chief Minister today, seeking necessary financial assistance.
Dr Saha carefully reviewed the medical documents concerning Pal’s father and promptly directed GB Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Shankar Chakraborty to facilitate the required treatment.
Ujjal Das, a dumb and deaf youth from Pratapgarh, met with the Chief Minister today to request disability allowance. Ujjal has been dumb and deaf since birth, posing challenges in securing employment.
Consequently, his wife works as a housekeeper to support the family. Upon reviewing Ujjal Das’s essential documents, the Chief Minister directed Tapas Roy, the Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, to take necessary steps to provide him with a disability allowance.
Babul Sarkar, a resident of Singhamura in Amtali, also met with the Chief Minister today, seeking medical assistance. Babul, an auto driver, suffered a brain stroke in December 2022, resulting in complete paralysis of the left side of his body. Consequently, he is currently unemployed, and as the sole breadwinner, his family is facing financial difficulties. Struggling to cover his medical expenses, Babul sought financial assistance from the Chief Minister.
In response, the Chief Minister directed the MS of GB Hospital to take necessary steps after reviewing the relevant documents related to the government’s treatment.
Additionally, Secretary Tapas Roy of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department was instructed to explore how the government could support Babul through their department.
In today’s programme secretary to the CM Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, MS of Atal Bihari Regional Cancer Centre Dr. S. Debbarma was present.
