Tripura Assembly: Budget session to start from Mar 17

The budget session of the State Assembly of Tripura will start from March 17 next. The session will be ended on March 24 next, said Speaker of the House Ratan Chakraborty on Wednesday.

 

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held at the Bidhan Sabha building on Wednesday ahead of the budget session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.

 

The meeting was attended by Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Chief Whip of the Assembly Kalyani Roy and other members of the BAC Committee.

 

After the meeting, Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty briefed the media on the decision taken at the BAC committee meeting. He said the budget session of the assembly will start from March 17 next. The sessions will remain closed on March 18, 19 and 20. 

 

The session will resume from March 21. This session will continue till March 24. The session will sit for a total of 5 days. The budget will be presented by the finance minister and deputy chief minister on March 17.

 

Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty further said that several bills will be introduced in this session.

 

This will be the last budget of the incumbent BJP-IPFT Government as Assembly polls in Tripura is scheduled to be held next year.
