Tripura by elections: Paid holiday for private sector employees

Paid holiday for Private sector employees In order to make it convenient for every voters to exercise his/her voting right during the ensuing By elections to 6-Agartala, 8-Town Bordowoli, 46-Surma(SC) and 57-Jubrajnagar Assembly constituencies.

The Labour Department directs all the managements of all Shops & Establishments, Factories, Tea and other Plantations falling in the private sectors in the State to declare 23s June, 2022 as paid holiday for their workers and employees who are voters in the said constituencies.

Meantime, West Tripura District Superintendent of Police J Reddy elaborated on the security arrangements while addressing a press meet on Tuesday.

He said there were 12 companies of CAPF and state police, for the election. Besides, there are also TSR jawans. Central security personnel will be present in each polling station. He said there are I11 polling stations in the two assembly constituencies. Of these, 17 polling stations have been identified as sensitive. Returning officers of these two constituencies also discussed preparations for the polls.

 

District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan told at the press conference on Tuesday there are 55 polling stations and 51,639 voters in the 6-Agartala assembly constituency. There are 56 polling stations and 46,583 voters in 8-Town Bordowali Assembly constituency.

Referring to the law and order situation in these two centres, the district magistrate said that the law and order situation is being monitored regularly. CAPF Jawans are patrolling in different places. The district magistrate said webcasting would be done at each polling station during polling day.

Videography will be done and micro observers will be provided for each polling station. CAPF will be present at every polling station for security. Two model polling stations have been set up in each of the two assembly constituencies.

Model booths: Model booths in 6-Agartala Assembly constituency are 6/23 Maitri Bharati J B School and 6/24 Middle Boys South West Booth.

The model booths at 8-Town Bordowali Assembly Constituency are 8/1 Ramnagar Girls High School, West and 8/2 Ramnagar Girls High School, North-West.

Women controlled booths: Polling stations run by women have been set up in two assembly constituencies i.e. 6, I and 2 booths in 6-Agartala assembly constituency and 8, I and 2 booths in 8-town Bordowali assembly constituency.

The district magistrate said that the 6-Agartala assembly constituency has been divided into 8 sectors and the 8-town Bordowali assembly constituency has been divided into 7 sectors to strengthen security. Each sector has a sector magistrate and a police sector officer. Already in these two assembly constituencies from 5 pm of 21m June till 5 am of 24th June, 2022 section 144 has been imposed.

Dry Day : Agartala Municipal area has been declared dry day from 21" to 23s June and 26th June. The district magistrate said adequate security measures and various measures have been taken to ensure free and peaceful voting.
