Tripura Civic Polls: CM scales up ante against CPM, Congress, TMC

On the penultimate day of campaigning for Civic Body polls in Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb scaled up ante against the CPM as well as Congress and Trinamool Congress (TMC). Hitting a whirlwind campaign trails, Deb addressed poll rallies in Dharmanagar, Kailashahar, Ambassa and Santipara in Agartala covering North, Unakoti, Dhalai and West Tripura districts respectively.

Training guns at the CPM, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that the CPM would come at zero in the 2023 assembly polls - they would not be able win even a single seat.

He launched a scathing attack against the communist and said, every decision was taken from the party office during the Left regime – the decisions were full of misrule.

Addressing the poll rally at Santipara in Agartala on Monday evening, Deb referred to the activities of the incumbent government and said that the people of Tripura had first experienced the people-oriented government in 2018 – the year when BJP ousted Left Front from power in Tripura.

In another rally at Dharmanagar, Deb said that the joint efforts of CPM, TMC and Congress to discredit Tripura in the way of escalating communal tension were foiled by the state government.

He also alleged that Trinamool was sending criminals to Tripura ahead of the civic body polls.

Deb said, “Three drug mafias took shelter in a hotel near Kolkata airport. Tripura government sought cooperation from the Kolkata police but for no result because the drug mafias are funding the TMC.”

Deb also addressed election rallies in Kailashahar and Ambassa on the same day. In Dharmanagar, two councilors of CPM joined the BJP.
