Tripura CM inaugurates Atal Setu on Juri River

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated a bridge - ‘Atal Setu’ – on Juri river in North Tripura district on Monday. The 70-meter Atal Setu will connect Deochhara with Jubarajnagar in the North district. On the same day, the Chief Minister also formally opened the newly constructed building of a Primary Health Centre at Tilthai in the same district. Deputy Speaker of Tripura State Assembly Biswabandhu Sen and other dignitaries were present on these programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Deb highlighted Modi-led Government’s initiative for the welfare of common people especially the farming communities. Shedding lights on agricultural development in North district, Deb said, the way the district is striding forward in agri-sector, Tripura would become capable of supply improved hybrid paddy seeds to other Northeastern states within 5 years.

In his speech, the Chief Minister came down heavily on CPIM and said, the communists used to engage farmers to hold agitations in case of crop losses. In contrast, Modi-Government has implemented Fasal Bima Yojana to protect the farmers against crop losses.

He also said, be it employment generation, infrastructure development, efficient healthcare delivery or any other sector including Agriculture, the state government is now working in a new direction to ensure an overall growth.

“Every department is achieving the same rate of progress to reach the goal of Model Tripura,” Deb said adding that a positive change in the mindset of people was visible.

Referring to state government’s development programmes, the Chief Minister said the ‘commission business’, as the people saw during communist rule, would not be allowed anymore. “The days of commission politics are gone. If anybody wants to earn income in new Tripura, hard work will remain the only choice,” Deb said.

The Chief Minister also visited Unakoti district and addressed an ‘Atal Sankalp Rally’ under Pabiacherra Mandal where a large gathering was seen. “The previous government never prioritized the resources available in the state. It was the government of a cadre-based party. Now, the government is meant for the people,” Deb told the gathering.
