Tripura CM inaugurates several newly built farmers' facility centers

The development of a country or society depends on the development of the socioeconomic condition of the farmers. India is an agriculture-based country, which is why the state government is working to build modern agriculture infrastructure in every agriculture sub-division, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating farmers’ facilities – the newly built rice godown of 1 thousand MT capacity, a newly built Farmers’ Knowledge Centre and Krishak Bandhu Kendra in Mandwi block in West Tripura District on Wednesday.

It is to be noted that the newly built rice godown has been built at the cost of Rs 1 crore 25 lakh. The newly built Farmers’ Knowledge Centre has been built at the cost of Rs 50 lakh with the financial assistance of the Tribal Welfare department. Furthermore, the newly built Krishak Bandhu Kendra located nearby Gourmani stadium in Mandwi has been built at the cost of Rs 50 lakh with the financial assistance of the Tribal Welfare department as well.

The Chief Minister in the inaugural programme said, works for overall development are continuing in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi always thinks about ways to improve the quality of living of the farmers of the country.

Accordingly, the Agriculture department is taking various plans for the development of the farmers in the state under his guidance. For instance, GDPs of several developed countries were falling to a great extent during the Covid-19 situation. However, the GDP of our country did not fall due to the far-sightedness of our Prime Minister.

Dr Saha said, each and every department of the state is working to deliver all kinds of government services to the people. The Government implemented the Prati Ghare Sushason campaign so that all the benefits of the central and the state government schemes reach 100% of people.

The Chief Minister called upon everyone to come forward to further strengthen the brotherhood among communities and in the state’s development.

He said, a transparent government is working in the state. The state government is completing different kinds of recruitment in a transparent manner. Two thousand rupees is being given as social pensions to the beneficiaries. The state government is also working for the development of the industry.

Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, this infrastructure has been built for the farmers living in far-flung areas of the state so that they could increase their income. The farmers are being provided with modern agricultural machinery, fertilizers and seeds. Besides, it is also being looked after that farmers get the proper price for their crops. The government is procuring paddy from the farmers at MSP. He said, providing only machinery will not suffice. The farmers also need advice which is why KBKs and KGKs are being opened in every agriculture sub-division.

MLA Birendra Debbarma, Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare department Apurba Roy and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
