Tripura CM installs Maharaja Bir Bikram's statue at 'zero' point in Agartala

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha unveiled a statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur – known as the architect of modern Tripura, at the newly restored and decorated ‘zero’ point in Agartala - between Kaman Chowmuhani and Old Motor Stand - on Friday (March 31). As a mark of respect to the Maharaja, the place was named Maharaja Bir Bikram Chowmuhani.

After the event, Dr Saha said, “The ‘zero’ milestone of Agartala was gradually eroded by the soil due to lack of proper maintenance in the past. On the other hand, the Chaumuhani is a very old place, it has no specific name. A long-cherished wish was fulfilled today with the inauguration of this newly created ‘zero’ milestone and naming the Chaumuhani after Maharaja Bir Bikram”.
