Tripura: Cong candidate Sudip Roy Barman attacked, hospitalised
Congress candidate of 6-Agartala Assembly constituency by polls, Sudip Roy Barman was attacked and his car was vandalised by miscreants at Abhoynagar Bazar area in Agartala under West Tripura district on Sunday late night.
Roy Barman was rushed to a private hospital in Agartala with visible injury marks on his face.
Reacting to the attack, Congress candidate of 8-Bordowali Assembly seat, Asish Saha held BJP backed goons responsible for the attack on Roy Barman.
He also blamed the Police and BJP Candidate Dr Ashok Sinha of the same constuency from where Roy Barman is contesting by polls.
Asish Saha said Roy Barman went to Abhoynagar area after getting information that one of his close aides was being threatened and intimidated.
Saha continued and alleged, Roy Barman found Dr Ashok Sinha and ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury at the spot. While he was talking with the Minister about the prevailing situation there, stone pelting on Roy Barman started.
Being hit, he fell on the ground and his body guard rescued him and took him to his car. Miscreants attacked the car and vandalised it, meantime he was whisked away from the spot and brought to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment, Saha said.
