Tripura : Congress MLAs to wear black badges protesting Rahul's disqualification from LS membership

The MLAs of Congress will attend the second day of the ongoing Budget session on Monday (Mar 27) of the Legislative Assembly of Tripura wearing black badges.

“All the three MLAs of Congress will go to the House wearing black badges to protest against ‘unethical’ disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha membership”, party MLA Gopal Roy said while taking part in a protest programme in Agartala on Sunday (March 26).

Tripura Pradesh Congress held a day-long satyagraha protest against Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from the LS membership. As part of the country-wide 'Sankalp Padayatra', Tripura Pradesh Congress also held a Satyagraha program near the Gandhi statue at the Circuit House in Agartala today.

Congress leader and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha, among others, were present. Saha strongly criticized the Narendra Modi-led BJP government and said there was a deep conspiracy against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from the Lok Sabha membership was done to defeat the country's democratic fabric and to try to stop Rahul Gandhi's democratic protests against the Modi-led Government.

Saha continued to slam the central government and said, the BJP-led government is trying to return to power in the country by destroying the rights of the countrymen.

“Rahul Gandhi wanted to speak in Parliament against the BJP government's corruption, lack of employment, and the exorbitant price hike of essential commodities. So to stop him, Rahul was disqualified.

Veteran Congress leader and party MLA Gopal Roy also came down heavily on the Modi-led government saying that democracy is in danger in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scared of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s growing popularity. BJP has hatched a conspiracy to stop Rahul Gandhi.

He said that the Congress MLAs will wear black badges on the second day of the Assembly session on Monday protesting against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi. He warned that the movement and protests will continue in the coming days.
