The bill, which sought action on filling the backlog of unfilled government positions, sparked a robust debate among MLAs, including Sudip Roy Barman, Nirmal Biswas, Kishore Barman, Chittaranjan Deb Barma, and Ranjan Das.

The Industrial Development Corporation has contributed another 1,617 opportunities. Specialized training initiatives have also bolstered employment, with 342 individuals trained as door-step insemination workers under the Animal Resources Development Department, significantly impacting rural economies.

**Empowering Self-Reliance and Livelihoods**

Under the Tripura Rural and Urban Livelihood Missions, the government has extended financial assistance worth Rs 1,028.42 lakh to 2,770 self-help groups, enabling capital investment and equipment procurement. In the fisheries sector, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana has supported 2,715 beneficiaries in achieving self-reliance.

The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana has facilitated employment for 4,067 individuals, while the National Career Service Project has hosted 96 job fairs, securing private-sector placements for 2,135 youths. The Chief Minister's Rubber Mission has also been instrumental, with 600 hectares of rubber plantations established in 2023-24, benefiting 916 tribal families.

**Progress on Unemployment Rate**

Minister Roy noted that these cumulative efforts have significantly reduced Tripura's unemployment rate to 3.2% for the fiscal year 2023-24, a marked improvement that reflects the government’s persistent endeavors.

**Private Member's Bill Rejected**

Despite the achievements outlined by the minister, the private member’s bill calling for urgent action on unfilled government positions was unanimously rejected by the assembly. The government emphasized that its comprehensive strategy and ongoing recruitment drive adequately address the issue.

The Social Welfare Minister concluded by reaffirming the government's commitment to youth employment and economic development, underscoring the state’s progress in tackling unemployment and fostering self-reliance.
