Tripura Govt to issue offer letters to 1468 UGTs, GTs; Solace for keens of persons died in political violence

On the day of Makar Sankranti, the Tripura Government has taken notable steps for job applicants, especially for TET qualified candidates on Thursday. Besides, the State Cabinet has also gave its nod to government jobs to keen of seven persons who died in political violence before March 9, 2018 .   

 

The BJP-IPFT Tripura government has decided to issue offer letters to 1468 Under Graduate and Graduate Teachers after January 20 next.

 

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this in a news conference at the Civil Secretariat in Agartala on Thursday.

 

He said, “The Education department had sought 1725 Under Graduate and 2116 Graduate teachers from Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TEBT). But, the TRBT could provide only 1468 teachers-- 571 UGTs and 857 GTs.”

 

Nath continued, “We shall further write to the TRBT to conduct examination and meet the demand of the remaining 2373 teachers—1154 UGTs and 1259 GTs.”

 

As per the recommendations made by the TRBT, Nath said, the state government would start issuing offer letters to the 1468 teachers after January 20 next.

 

In the meantime, the Minister also stated that more 18 UGTs and 11 GTs, who already received offer letters, would be given postings.

 

“We have also decided to appoint the candidates who already qualified central TET but the decision is pending for cabinet approval. A file has already been processed in this regard,” Nath told the media.

 

He also stated that the government was also considering the issue of a few candidates who cleared TET but became overage.

 

“An advertisement will be given for the candidates who have qualified TET but are now unable to participate in jobs due to over age. Thereafter, the Education department will take it into consideration and move for cabinet approval,” Ratan Lal Nath added.

 

Meanwhile, The council of ministers has on Thursday approved government jobs to keen of seven persons who died in political violence before March 9, 2018. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb made this announcement on his official social media handle.

 

The Chief Minister wrote, the cabinet has approved the recommendations of a high power committee formed to identify the victims.

 

As per the decision, one member of seven families each-- Bapi Sarkar, son of Birlal Sarkar, Rammai Santi Molsam, wife of Gourhari Molsam, Mithu Majumder, daughter-in-law of AMulya Malakar, Nabirung Tripura, wife of Chan Mohan Tripura, Mitali Rani Suklabaidua, wife of Tunu Suklabaidya, Sagarika Das (Deb), wife of Sunil Chandra Deb, and Badani Chakma, wife of Nishikanta Chakma, would be given government jobs. They would receive the appointment letters soon.

 

While sharing the details, the Chief Minister also mentioned that the administration would be alert so that such incidents are not repeated.
