BJP distances itself from assault on Adhikari

Gomati district unit of BJP has condemned the attack on former BJP general secretary of the district Rupak Adhikari on Friday. 

Addressing a press meet in Udaipur on Saturday, BJP district general secretary Prashanta Poddar said, “Attack on Rupak Adhikari is condemnable and BJP supporters are in no way connected with the attack. This is a conspiracy hatched by the opposition party to malign the saffron party”. 

Poddar also claimed that one person was arrested in connection with the attack.

Notably, a group of miscreants assaulted RupakAdhikari in Udaipur on Friday – the attack sparked resentment among the locals. A section alleged Adhikari was attacked by the local negotiation mafias. Notably, Rupak Adhikari is the son of Gomati Zilla Sabhadhipati Swapan Adhikari.

Reacting promptly BJP district leaders called a press conference and clearly distanced themselves from the attack and categorically pointed out that no supporter or leader of BJP was associated with the assault on Rupak Adhikari.

Blood soaked body recovered

A blood soaked body of a 22-year old youth was recovered from his own house at Palatana Panchayat area under Udaipur in Tripura on Saturday. According to Additional SP of Gomati district Sudip Pal, wound marks on the deceased body were found. The body was sent for post mortem and Police have started an investigation.
