Tripura News: BSF joins mega tree plantation drive, plants 20k saplings in State on single day

As part of the nation-wide mega tree plantation drive launched by Home Minister Amit Shah in Shillong on Sunday, the Tripura frontier BSF planted 20,600 saplings in a single day alone.

 

The plantation drive was carried out in all Border Out Posts as well as the headquarters of Battalions, Sectors and Frontier in the state, according to an official press release from BSF.

 

Meanwhile, BSF Tripura has been continuously contributing towards the goal of “Green Tripura – Clean Tripura”.

 

The ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ by all the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) was initiated as “Paryavaran - Pratham Rakshha Pankti”.

 

During this plantation drive in Tripura, Susanta Kumar Nath, Inspector General Tripura Frontier along with BSF officers, subordinate officers and other ranks besides their families and children joined hands in planting more than 1000 saplings of various fruit bearing and ornamental plants in BSF Campus Salbagan, adhering to COVID-19 protocols.

 

During the current session, BSF Tripura has already planted more than 92,000 saplings in various BSF campuses and Border Out Posts as well as in the premises of Govt. Institution in the bordering regions. Now, the total number of saplings planted till date has touched the mark of 1,13,000.

 

Meanwhile, The 96th battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) of Bagafa headquarters on Sunday organized a tree plantation programme to maintain the ecological balance. The programme mainly aimed to tree plantation at all the BOPs of the battalion.   

Naresh Kumar, Commandant of the 96th Battalion, BSF along with Rajpal Singh and other officials, members of Santir Bazar Student Friend Social Organization were present on the occasion.

During the tree planting program, BSF jawans planted trees in different corners of the headquarters.
