Tripura News: CM asks officials to expedite works under TUDA maintaining quality

Works for ongoing projects under Tripura Urban Planning and Development Authority (TUDA) should be expedited keeping focus the quality of works. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this while chairing a review meeting of TUDA at Civil secretariat in Agartala on Thursday.

 

He also stressed on generating awareness among the people about the on-going projects implemented by TUDA across the State.   

 

Deb instructed the officials concerned to maintain quality of works and complete them within the stipulated time.

 

TUDA Commissioner Tamal Majumder informed the Chief Minister that under the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank, infrastructure development works were initiated in 13 Urban Local Bodies of seven district headquarters.

 

The tendering process for this project would begin by November next and an amount of Rs. 1600 crore would be spent to complete the works, Majumder told the meeting.

 

In the meeting vice chairman of TUDA and the secretary of Urban Development department apprised the Chief Minister of steps taken on the basis of resolutions of the last TUDA meeting. He said, a total of 48 flats at Vivekananda Market, 216 flats at place adjacent to Kunjaban Bhagat Singh Housing and 392 flats at Nandan Nagar area would be constructed. Out of this foundation stones of the projects were laid at Vivekananda Market and Bhagat Singh Housing areas. In both the cases, targets have been set to complete the flat construction works within 2023 next.

 

In depth discussions were held relating to present status of constructing an IT park at the place Old Central correctional home in Agartala.
