Tripura News: CPIM leader urges people to be united against BJP, strengthen INDIA bloc

In support of INDIA Bloc nominated CPIM Candidate Rajendra Reang for the East Tripura LS seat, CPIM Politburo leader Manik Sarkar addressed a public rally at Amarpur on Tuesday.

As the 2nd phase polling ensuing, political parties braving scorching heat,  stepped up campaign for East Tripura Parliamentary seat which will go to polls on April 26. 

While the ruling BJP leaders including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha are holding public rallies across the LS constituency, INDIA bloc Leaders especially the Leftists have also hit the campaign trails.

Supporters of the Opposition parties - most of them were CPIM supporters - assembled near party's Amarpur Divisional Office at the Amarpur Uttar Bazar. They held a rally which culminated at the School ground adjacent to Amarpur Chandibari. 

The leaders slammed the ruling BJP on multiple issues and urged the voters to ensure defeat of the BJP candidate. The leaders also took a swipe at the BJP's newest ally in Tripura, TIPRA Motha Party for "betraying" the tribal people by forging an alliance with the saffron party. 

Addressing the gathering, Manik Sarkar launched a scathing verbal attack on the ruling BJP over socio-economic and political issues. 

Sarkar alleged unemployment rate is increasing under the BJP regime and criticized the ruling government for ignoring sufferings of the youths.and it's 'failure' in creating new employment opportunities. 

"The ruling government is not concerned about the immediate challenge before society - the rising unemployment", he alleged. 

Sarkar also slammed the government over several economic problems including price rise. 

He said prices of goods are skyrocketing especially prices of the petrol, diesel and cooking gas. 

"Prices essential goods including fuel are rising and putting enormous pressure on people. Moreover, life saving drugs have become too costly under the present dispensation", he alleged. 

The CPIM Politburo leader also warned the people alleging that the democracy and constitution are under attack.

He added, "To restore democracy, save the constitution and country, people will have to be united against the BJP ". 

He urged the people to vote for Rajendra Reang and strengthen the INDIA Bloc to the sake of youths, farmers and people of other sections of society.

Apart from Manik Sarkar, former state minister Ratan Bhowmik, CPIM Amarpur Divisional Committee Secretary Parimal Debnath and other leaders were present in the rally.
