An English medium school in rural Teliamura is poised to become the nucleus of edu-activities and a launching ground for higher education aspirants. Thanks to Rabi Choudhury and his G Next School for making quality education accessible to rural and economically weak students.
Rabi Choudhury established G Next English Medium Model School in a 5 kani land at West Haoaibari Gram Panchayat in 2012 and began the journey as a Nursery School. Over the years, amidst hardship and hurdles the school gradually up-graded into a High School. Further, it has been upgraded to the Higher Secondary school with 20 seats each for Science and Arts streams, this year.
His G-Next Model School is not just another private run English medium School, but a place for rural students to pursue their dreams as well as a source of skill development of female members of the students of the school.
The School did not receive any financial assistance from the Government, so far. However, after noticing his utter sincerity, the Spice Board contributed Rs 3.5 lakh for smooth functioning of the school and tied up with the school authority aiming to improve the quality of education, even further.
Founder chairman of G Next English medium School, Rabi Choudhury said, “There are several English medium schools in Teliamura sans the facility for Higher Secondary level science students. Every year students who want to study science and want to prepare for Joint Entrance exams need to move to Agartala. Only a section of meritorious students can afford the cost while economically poor students lag behind”.
Choudhury continued, “As the G Next English medium school up-graded into the Higher Secondary School, it will usher a new dawn for rural students of Teliamura in terms of studying science and joint entrance exams”.
He said, Fisheries, Agriculture, Animal resource and Botanical gardens have been set to impart practical knowledge to students following the NEP.
“The school has a quality digital lab. Besides, the school has the facility to prepare students for Joint Entrance exams. The school also has facilities to impart vocational training”, Choudhury commented and added, most importantly, students of this school need not to go to private tutors, school teachers prepare the students with quality training.
Purabi Choudhury is the founder principal of the school and there are 18 teachers for a total of 207 students in the school.
