Tripura News: One-time ad hoc promotion for State Govt employees, 538 Sc Teacher regularized
Tripura Government has decided to give one-time ad hoc promotion to State Government employees. State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this in Agartala on Tuesday. The Minister also announced the Government’s decision to regularize services of 938 Science Teachers.
He said, in a State cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, council of Ministers approved a New Promotion Policy which would allow the eligible employees to get a one-time ad-hoc promotion. Nath also said, the eligible candidates for such promotion would be selected through seniority list and subject to several conditions. In a case where employees are eligible for multiple promotions, he/she would get one promotion only.
The minister also pointed out that new supernumerary posts, if required, would be created to give promotion to the eligible employees.
Ratan Lal Nath said the promotions of the employees in various categories were stalled for years following petitions in the Supreme Court. In view of cases in the Apex Court, the State Government has decided to give ad hoc promotion to ensure momentum in the Government activities as well as to uphold the interests of the employees.
The Minister pointed out that the New Promotion Policy would benefit a good number of SC, ST and UR employees.
Announcing the decision to regularize the Science teachers, the Minister said, these science teachers were recruited by the previous LF Government on fixed pay basis in 2012. Along with the regularization of services of these 938 teachers, the Government decided to pay the arrears with effect from July 2017 upto May 31, 2021.
Nath informed the media that this decision would cost extra Rs 49,59,09,344 per year.
Detailing the regular scale, the Minister said, the 938 Science teachers are receiving Rs 20,475 each per month at present. With the regularization, each of them would receive Rs 33,853 per month including all benefits.
