Eminent academician Prof. Kashinath Das passed away in a private hospital in Kolkata on Friday morning. He was 74. Das is survived by his wife, one daughter and one son.
Das was a popular Professor and was loved as well as respected by all. He was always very close to his students and juniors.
Before joining his service as Professor in Maharaja Bir Bikram College, he had worked as a teacher in Kulai School. After his retirement, Prof. Das had joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra as the Director.
He was infected by Coronavirus and admitted to a Kolkata-based hospital where he lost the battle for life at 9 am on Friday morning.
Debashis Chakraborty, vice-chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra condoled the demise of Prof. Das and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family on behalf of the entire Bhavan’s family.
In a condolence message, Chakraborty said, “We deeply mourn the sudden, unexpected demise of Professor Kashinath Das, Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra who had passed away today at 9 am at the age of 74 years. He was under treatment in a private hospital in Kolkata. The entire family of Bhavan’s Agartala Kendra, expresses heartfelt condolence and sympathy to his family members. Let the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
