Bodies of siblings recovered, one held
In a tragic incident, bodies of two siblings – Rita Dey (13) and Hriday Dey (11) of Gabtali at Indira Nagar under Rajnagar in South Tripura – were found floating in a pond on Thursday.
Both went missing on Wednesday. Police detained one person – Sugrib Tripura and are investigating the case.
Parents of the children – Sadan Dey and Rinku Sarkar Dey said the children went to a jungle with cattle herd around 2km away from their residence. However as they were not returning family members started searching the missing children. Even though the cattle were found, Rita and Hriday remained untraceable. Later, parents of the children lodged a missing diary with PR Bari PS.
On Thursday morning Dey family received the dreaded news after Police recovered the bodies of the siblings from a pond near the jungle where they went with cattle herd.
Police detained one Sugrib Tripura for interrogation. A case of murder was lodged and Police are investigating the case.
One hurt by lightning
A 25-year old youth was injured by lightning at Bhatimaidan under Champahaor PS in Tripura on Thursday evening. The injured was identified as Anu Debbarma. He is undergoing treatment at Khowai Hospital.
Anu Debbarma was struck by lightning when he went to unplugged his TV.
Notably, gusty winds and heavy rains lashed out at Khowai today evening disrupting power supply in vast areas –Khowai district Hospital also plunged into darkness and patients were treated using mobile lights.
Fratricide: Youth sent to JR
Bishalgarh Court sent Pranab Debbarma to Jail remand for 12 days today in charge of murder of his elder brother. Police from Bishramganj Police Station produced Pranab Debbarma at Bishalgarh Court today. In an incident of domestic violence, Pranab allegedly murdered his elder brother Ranjit Debbarma earlier at Tui Chakma area under Bishramganj Police Station in Tripura.
