In a bid to revitalize the tourism industry and create new employment opportunities, the Government of Tripura has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the sector. At a vibrant event held on Wednesday at the iconic Ujjayanta Palace lake, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury unveiled a series of recreational enhancements aimed at attracting more visitors and enriching the tourism experience.

The Minister inaugurated ten paddle boats and two state-of-the-art air-conditioned Urbania buses, marking a significant step forward in the state’s tourism strategy.

A Vision for Growth

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the government’s dedication to advancing the tourism sector through well-structured strategies that promise long-term benefits for the region.

“Today marks a beautiful and joyful day as we add another milestone to the ongoing development of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation,” the Minister said and highlighted the state’s proactive efforts to introduce innovative projects that cater to both local and interstate tourists.

The Urbania buses, a centerpiece of the new initiatives, are designed to enhance travel comfort and accessibility. Each bus, procured through the Government of India’s GeM portal at a cost of Rs 57.86 lakh, can accommodate 17 passengers.

Manufactured by Force Motors Company, these buses boast advanced features tailored for tourists seeking to explore the state’s picturesque destinations.
